Crossroads Festival
The Crossroads Festival is a unique community event held at the Worthington BMW showroom on Thursday 25th August 2011
The acoustics of the extended lower showroom have been described by Festival Director Glen Donnelly as ‘the best acoustic on the Central Coast’
For the first time we had a piano provided for the event, an instrument by Australian company Beale Pianos, which was locally sponsored by Macron Music.
100 guests were treated to refreshments provided by Onda Restaurant (formally The Cowrie) and Hungerford Hill Wines, followed by music by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Liszt, and more.
Performers included Glen Donnelly, Karina Moss-Hollands, some of the ASA’s most exciting rising stars including a brilliant quartet from the Sydney Conservatorium, and phenomenal Sydney pianist Ying Ho. The event was hailed a success and a brilliant showcase of talent on the Central Coast.

An Afternoon of Horse Power
On Sunday 26th June 2011
Brad Worthington and the team at Worthington BMW hosted a unique event at Somersby Equestrian Park, with a mixture of beautiful cars and an exciting game of Polo.
The event was attended by 100 invited guests and created the perfect backdrop to launch the “New BMW 6 Series” convertible. Guests were also able to view and drive many other models on the day as a procession of cars chaffered them from the dealership at Kariong to the Equestrian Park.
A wonderful time was had by all and the guests were very fortunate to watch a great match between BMW Blue & White teams featuring some of Australia’s best players.
Director of Somersby Equestrian Park, Martin Gostelow was instrumental in assembling the teams and organising the match. Martin said “It was an absolute privilege to play Polo on our own backyard with players of this calibre”, he added that “maybe Polo as a sport could also find an ongoing level of support in the form of our own Amateur League here at the Park”
The teams were comprised of Angus Scott from Quirindi, NSW: Dick Doolin, Windsor, NSW and Andrew Williams, Windsor, NSW. Recently, Williams has been selected to play for the Australian National Team in a two Test Series in South Africa this month.
The Umpire was the highly credentialed Jamie Mackay from Dungog, the former Captain of the Australian Team for 11 years.
Other team members were Professional Showjumping rider and Coach, Martin Gostelow, Somersby, Beau Blundell, East Gresford, NSW and Marty Ingham, SA.
The game was played over 4 sizzling chukkas and the players did not let the crowd down, playing a fast and furious game. Expert commentator and President of NSW Polo Assc. Ian McDuie, Scone, NSW, kept everyone abreast of the rules.
BMW Blue led a hearty comeback in the last two chukkas thanks to some intense support from a captivated crowd on the sidelines; eventually succumbing 9 goals to 6.
Brad said “Based on the success of today, I would like to be involved in a number of events over the course of the year, and encourage people to visit our facebook page for regular updates, or drop by the dealership”.
